The Lynx started the season strong with a 3-2 win (scrimmage) over NAIA's Lindenwood Lions in St. Charles, Missouri.

Rhodes' Katie Slimp scored first just 13 minutes into the game in a scramble around the goal cage putting the Lynx up 1-0.  The Lion equalized the score 11 minutes later on a penalty corner goal by Deborah Kunaha.  The Lynx went into halftime up 2-1 after Charlie Wagner deflected a shot from Maria Cowley into the cage with no time left on the clock on a penalty corner play.  Lindenwood tied the game 2-2 with 27 minutes to play off a goal by Michelle Bella.  Rhodes' last offensive push proved to be the game winner with Sara Haney scoring the goal, which was assisted by Libby Feaster.  All twenty five healthy players got time on the field for the Lynx.  Rhodes out shot Lindenwood 13-11 but the Lions held a 6-5 advantage in penalty corners.  Rhodes goalies Julz Anderson and Valerie Clarke combined for 7 saves while Lindenwood goalie Jennica Albertson recorded 4.

The Lynx head to Baltimore on Friday to play in Villa Julie's Black Eyed Susan Tournament over Labor Day weekend.  The Lynx will line up to face FDU - Florham at 2 pm on Saturday September 1st.
